At Let Love Live, we’ve always been committed to providing the best care and support for our rescued dogs. Today, we’re faced with a heartbreaking challenge – like many shelters and rescue organizations across the country right now, we have more dogs in our care than our facility is designed to handle and our financial and human resources are capable of managing.
With that, we are saddened to announce until further notice, we cannot take in any new dogs unless we find loving foster or adoptive homes for the ones currently in our care. It’s a situation we urgently need to address to keep our mission alive and to continue to offer LOVE to the abandoned, neglected and otherwise homeless dogs in Texas.
This page offers information on all the ways you can help support us in this time of extreme need. We appreciate and thank you for any contribution and remain hopeful this will be a short term status.
Making an IMPACT one dog at a time.
The cost of providing care for this many dogs is putting a strain on our finances. We’re currently spending more than we’re receiving from donations and adoption fees, which is unsustainable in the long term. If you can’t adopt or foster, consider sponsoring the adoption fee for one of our dogs. This will help encourage more potential pet parents to consider adopting our dogs and help us to offset the expense of their care in the meantime.
Please complete the form here and make sure to write a comment with the dog’s name you’d like to support if you have a preference, otherwise, we will allocate the funds to the dogs that have been with us the longest!

The well being of our dogs is our top priority. Overcapacity leads to less one-on-one attention for each dog, causing stress and potential behavioral issues. Our dogs thrive on individual care and affection and this crisis makes it hard to provide the quality time they need.
When you adopt from us, you’ll be offering the personal time each dog craves – and our team will be here providing you with long term support!
Our dedicated staff works tirelessly to provide the best care possible for all our dogs. However, caring for a number beyond our capacity increases their workload and can lead to staff burnout and unmanageable disease control, plus reduced updating of dog profiles with photos and behavioral details.
You can help work alongside our staff by becoming foster family volunteer. When you foster with us, you share the responsibility of caring for our dogs. You’d provide a safe, loving space in your home – and our staff will be with you each step of the way to provide transition and training guidance, schedule preventative care and to manage unexpected medical treatments.
Becoming a foster parent is simple! Let us know you’d like to foster by --> filling out our quick form and we’ll reach out to discuss pets that match your preferences and discuss transport details. Our only requirements are that you must be at least 18 years old and be able to provide daily basic care (food, water, space in your home, exercise, and basic manners).
While it is your responsibility to communicate regularly with us about your foster pet’s needs, our team manages the scheduling of all preventative treatments and we cover the costs of all veterinary care, including emergency medical expenses.
Each week our team will notify all foster families of pets ready to relocate from the Texas Sanctuary to a home in Minnesota. We welcome you to select the pet(s) you wish to foster based on your own needs and preferences. However, keep in mind we ask all foster parents to be flexible and consider prioritizing pets in which fostering will have the greatest impact on their wellbeing.
Be honest and upfront with our team if you have length of stay limitations as our goal is to make sure your foster experience is enjoyable so that you continue opening your home to pets long term with us. In general, the length of a fostering period varies depending on the pet’s needs and amount of adoption content such as pet personality, biography details, photos and videos taken you provide to us about your foster pet.
Of course! We love seeing our pets get adopted by loving families! You will still need to complete the necessary adoption process so we can legally transfer ownership to you and we hope that once your pet is settled, you continue to foster with us!
Share our posts on social media, talk to your friends and family about our cause. The more people who know about our situation, the more potential homes we can find for our dogs.
